Goodbye Perez, Hello Schulze

We have waited for this week for what feels like forever and I can't tell you how happy I am! 

As I type, I'm sitting in the Sky Harbor airport waiting to board my flight...that was delayed...and I only found out the moment I ran up to my gate with the closed door...with no one in sight! Scary! Apparently half way between security and looking for the original gate all this craziness went down and the flight has been delayed for another hour. But I'm here, and waiting and eventually I'll be off to California. 

This week leading up to the wedding has been so packed with last minute things! I feel like I haven't slept at all! However, I can say that for the most part our little room will be ready for the both of us once we get back! On Saturday we went to Ikea to get a dresser and our bedside tables. We came out with a few extra things like a really pretty frame, a paisley duvet, and pillows! I was so excited and after EVERYTHING was put together and set up (it took about 2 days), Jordan's room went from bachelor's room  to a cute married couple's room! his football jersey still needs to come down and will be replaced with a wedding picture...the it'll be officially OUR room!   

I just can't tell you how excited I am to get married to my best friend. I also can't wait for all this wedding planning to be over with so I can just breathe!! 

Just 2 more days and I will be a Schulze!!!!

I Can't Feel My Cheeks...

I never realized all the work and planning that had to be done after the proposal. I guess I assumed that the after would be all rainbows and butterflies. Don't get me wrong, it probably is that for other couples...but for Jordan and I...not so much. 

First things first, we had to decide a date. One of the factors in choosing a date was basketball. The other was how long we wanted this engagement to last. And last but not least, Jordan's school schedule. For one, we didn't want to drag it out...and we didn't have many options since pretty much every Saturday was game day until the end of February and the soonest break (beside Christmas) was spring break in March. With all those factors in mind we finally, and as speedily, decided on March 11, 2016.

You do the math....December to March equals 3 months to PLAN A WEDDING!! (hyperventilating) 

Before we can officially announce the wedding date, we needed to do the engagement photos. And who else would take them besides my amazingly talented,big sister, Christie...who lives in Huntington Beach, Ca....we live in Buckeye, Az....problem... Well thank you Christmas Break and the fact that we only live 5 hours away from her! We drove down December 22nd, took the pictures on the 23rd, and drove home on the 24th. Fast little vacation, but it is what it is. 

Even though our cheeks hurt from smiling so much, the pictures were hands down perfect! I'm just glad we got to check one thing off the list!

The Proposal: Short (like really short) Film

The Proposal

I'm pretty sure every little girl has dreamt up a million different scenario for how her Prince Charming will pop the question. I know as i went through each phase in my life and with every new obsession, I came up with a new proposal idea. However, when the time FINALLY comes for that oh so important question, you don't really care how it happens..you just want it to happen!...Well, at least I did..haha..I'll stop wasting time and get to how it all went down!

December 15: 

I woke up, got ready (and tried harder than normal because when you finally make it to 22 you want to look good), was picked up by Jordan and we went to breakfast at Denny's. Apparently all you need to do is show your ID and you get a free breakfast! Sadly, we sorta forgot to tip the server, sooooo we will never be able to go back there...a big faux pas...but lets move on, shall we?

We headed towards a hike near the Phoenix Temple;two things I love. On the way up Jordan told me to keep an eye out for a nice rock since that was all I was going to get for my birthday. In my head I wasn't even thinking the "rock" could mean "engagement right", so I tell him I wanted to find one of those white rocks with sparkles in them...haha so dumb, I know! As we get closer to the top, I pretty much lost all hope that I was ever going to find a pretty rock and suggest we get a normal one, paint it, and roll it in sparkles. We finally make it to the top, look around, decide a picture is a must (because that's how I document my life) and Jordan goes and asks a random person to take our pictures. Little did I know that Jordan had cued the stranger in on what he was about to do. I give Stranger Man my phone, he takes a few "pictures" but is really recording the whole thing. I go up to him to check the pictures he took (because we all know not everyone can be photographer and just because an iPhone is user friendly doesn't mean you'll get the perfect shot) and Jordan taps me on the shoulder....I turn around...and he is on ONE KNEE!! ONE KNEE!!! AHHH IT WAS REALLY HAPPENING!!! AHHH!!! (<-what was going through my head at the time) I say yes! I am in total disbelief. But I am just so happy!

After that craziness, we went to a Hawaiian restaurant where I got spoiled with some Poke. And in between bites I was busy calling and texting everyone about the news.

By the end of the night not only was my belly happy, but my heart was the happiest it has ever been. I guess you can say it was an unforgettable birthday!
